電影〈無名指〉 (L’annulaire--The Ring Finger)
一場意外奪去你的無名指指尖，草灰色的檸檬汁血染成紅色液體，至此，成了你的夢靨，揮之不去。你提著行囊，來往於碼頭間找差事，操著英語的工頭卻驅趕你離去。大船鳴笛入港，間歇傳來海鷗的叫聲，背景傳來輕柔的鋼琴音符，搭配女聲緩緩演唱。在偌大的港口間穿梭，你更顯得形單影隻。 你從未和那名同住一間房的水手打過照面。水手夜裡很少回來，白天一個人躺在床上，癡望著你掛在窗邊的絲質連身裙，隨著風飄呀飄的……在他準備隨船出海前夕，留了張字條給你，想和你相約在四條街外的酒吧碰面，你赴了約，但兩人終究無緣在一起。 你在一幢舊式宅邸，找到一份「標本製作助理」的工作。顧客上門製作標本的理由有千百種，但目的卻只有一種，就是保存失去的一切，然後拋掉過去。因此，你可以見到大火之後，在原址重生的香菇被製成了標本、腎結石標本，還有一名女子拿著一份樂譜，想到這兒來將前男友徹底遺忘。「製作這些標本，就是要分開、封存、了結，絕不是要增加對物品的思念。」標本師娓娓道來，卻注意到你刻意彎起的無名指，彷彿想要遮掩一切，怎奈只是徒勞。 標本師總是一身白袍，無聲地出現，站在一旁望著你。要說標本師貪念你青春的肉體，倒不如說他戀上的是你的腳，於是你得到一雙紅色高跟鞋作為禮物，但條件是得無時無刻穿著這雙鞋。

CSI第八季第二集對白摘錄──在黑暗中用餐(1)
第一集末尾原本失去意識的莎拉，在救難直昇機上已經甦醒。第二集一開始她帶著包裹石膏的手回到辦公室。 (Sara walks through the hallway. Her arm is in a sling. She walks past the Print Lab. Mandy looks up from her worktable and watches her go.) (Sara continues through the hallway.) (She walks past the Trace Lab. Hodges looks up from his work and watches her go.)
莎拉來到上司Ecklie的辦公室，他正忙著撥電話給葛瑞森。頂頭上司詢問莎拉何時與葛瑞森進展為親密關係。 CONRAD ECKLIE: (to Sara) Have a seat. CONRAD ECKLIE: (to Sara) How's the arm? SARA: Fractured in two places. CONRAD ECKLIE: It's feeling better? SARA: Yeah. CONRAD ECKLIE: Good. CONRAD ECKLIE: So, you must know where he is. SARA: Actually, I don't. CONRAD ECKLIE: Really? CONRAD ECKLIE: Okay ... um ... Look, I don't want to play any games here. This is as difficult for me as it is for you. CONRAD ECKLIE: So let's just ... uh ... get this over with, shall we? CONRAD ECKLIE: Okay then ... uh ... this is an administrative inquiry. You and your supervisor were in direct violation of lab policy ... SARA: (corrects) "Are." CONRAD ECKLIE: "Are" in direct violation of lab policy, which states that members of the same forensic team may not engage in a romantic relationship. So when did you and Supervisor Grissom begin your relationship? SARA: We've always had a relationship. CONRAD ECKLIE: I mean, when did you become intimate? SARA: Two years ago. I think it was a Sunday. ***此時畫面出現一個球狀物，在路上彈跳。最後，這顆人頭滾到一個清潔隊員面前。(A round object comes into view. It rolls and turns as it bounces off the pavement and continues down the road.) (The round object bounces along the pavement, leaving dark, circular splotches on the road.) (A truck heads its way and it hits the bouncing object.) (Like a basketball, the bouncing object bounces against the truck and the pavement until the truck passes over it.) …… (The object bounces off the pavement and onto the dirt, where it rolls to a STOP right in front of one of the men.) EZEKIEL HOLSTEIN: (o.s.) SagebrushValleyHigh School. (Detective Ezekiel Holstein and Nick look closely at the head in the helmet.) EZEKIEL HOLSTEIN: The Cobras. NICK: He looks like he could still be in high school. Boy, football's gotten a lot more brutal since my playing days. EZEKIEL HOLSTEIN: Yeah, where's the rest of him, still on the field? (Nick looks down the long stretch of highway before them.) NICK: There's no high school football fields around here anyway. What do you think, Grissom? (Grissom studies the head.) GRISSOM: "Ichabod was horror-struck on perceiving that he was headless." [Note: he Legend of Sleepy Hollow,?by Washington Irving] (Nick grins and looks at Holstein.) …… NICK: Blood pool tells me the helmet must've been here for a while. (Grissom looks at the stain.) GRISSOM: Vehicle tire rolled through it. Helmet has black abrasions on it consistent with being hit by a tire. NICK: Probably got pinballed down the road. (Greg joins them.) GREG: I checked with Traffic. No reports of any traffic accidents near here. Uh, Holstein's getting an absentee list from the high school. (Nick nods.) GRISSOM: Head's over there. Blood trail leads up from here. We follow the blood. (Grissom starts walking.) (Greg walks up to Nick.) GREG: (low whisper) He say anything about what's happening with Sara? NICK: (shakes his head) No. (They turn and follow Grissom down the road.) (Nick stops, puts an evidence marker down on the road. Greg raises the camera and takes a photo.) ……NICK: (to Greg) Hey, did Sara ever say anything to you about her and Grissom? GREG: Not in so many words. NICK: So you knew about the two of them? GREG: (shrugs) Yeah. (Greg continues down the road. Nick spreads his arms wide.) (Meanwhile, Grissom finds more bloodstains on the road. This one veers off to the side. He follows the fluid trail in the dirt. He heads for the bushes and finds a body without a head.) GRISSOM: Hey! (Nick and Greg appear.) (Nick takes his glasses off and sighs from the smell.) NICK: Where's the uniform? (He kneels next to the body.) If he's not a player, what's with the helmet? (They note that the left hand is missing.) GREG: Maybe he's a rabid fan. There were all kinds of high school games last night. GRISSOM: Where's his hand? NICK: (o.s.) Got to be around here somewhere.***凱薩琳和華瑞克在另外一個案發現場。 (The place is quiet as people speak in hushed tones. Techs snap photos and officers take statements. 《國際書訊》英國圖書獎與卡夫卡文學獎

羅琳獲頒傑出成就獎
第19屆英國圖書獎9日揭曉，J. K. 羅琳獲頒傑出成就獎。獲得「年度作者」獎項的則是各大文學獎常勝軍伊恩．麥克伊旺，他的《卻西爾海灘》（中文版商周出版）同時獲選為年度圖書。其餘得獎名單中，年度最佳讀物為《燦爛千陽》（木馬）、小說獎得主為《不存在的女兒》（木馬）、非小說獎得主是伊旺．麥奎格和查理．布爾曼合著的《越界20000哩：2個人，2部摩托車的冒險》（商周），都已有中譯本出版。

2008 年普立茲文學獎得主出爐
多明尼加裔的朱內特．迪亞玆(Junot Diaz)以小說《沃奧斯卡短暫而奇妙的一生》(The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao)摘下今年普立茲文學獎的桂冠，此部小說已售出電影版權。迪亞茲以一個皮膚黝黑、肥胖、嗜書、愛打電玩、個性孤僻的多明尼加青年為小說主角，他不但是個星艦迷航(Star Trek)和托爾金迷，還夢想成為一位科幻小說家，成為「多明尼加的托爾金」。小說側寫多明尼加獨裁者特希洛政權（Trujillo Regime），內文夾雜大量西班牙與多明尼加俚語，是部風格獨特的青少年成長小說。

《蜂鳥的女兒》──全墨西哥最危險的女孩
「無從得知夢是什麼時候開始的。她甚至不知道她是不是真正在作夢。她感覺好像躺在那裡仰望星星一段時間，突然看到一樣東西。在遙遠的上空，有個奇怪的小小閃光，有個灰色小東西在星星之間移動。 在她注視的時候，這小點變得愈來愈大、愈來愈結實、愈來愈有色彩，直到她發現那是葳拉，正從天空走下來，好像在走樓梯一樣。」──節錄自《蜂鳥的女兒》
最近跟著趕搭試讀風潮，讀了這本即將由貓頭鷹出版的巨著，稱它是「巨著」這個形容詞一點都不為過，除了小說拿在手裡的確沉甸甸之外，作者路易‧安柏托‧伍瑞阿(Luis Alberto Urrea)融合了拉丁美洲特有的魔幻寫實元素、阿茲特克和馬雅神話、傳說、史實等，架構出一個格局龐大的民族史詩。小說背景設定在十九世紀末充滿內憂外患的墨西哥，當時境內游擊隊橫行，頑強抵抗由迪亞茲領軍的貪腐獨裁政權，再加上歐裔美國白人也想要霸佔境內印地安人的土地，騷亂不安的墨西哥卻因為出現了一位戰爭女神──泰瑞西塔，適時改變了國族的命運。
故事從卡伊妲娜‧夏維茲也就是族人口中所稱的「蜂鳥」產女開始敘述，然而這隻蜂鳥生下泰瑞西塔後，卻撇下了她的私生女不顧(其生父原是牧場主人湯瑪士，他是所謂的「尤力」也就是鄉紳階級的「白人」)。儘管泰瑞西塔明白她身上唯一和棕膚色族人不同的地方只有帶著些微草莓金的髮色，和額頭上一塊「紅色三角形」胎記，她對於自己的身世也不免感到好奇，「泰瑞西塔要去發現自己是誰的那天，湊巧也走到母親生她當天靠過的同一棵樹。」植物在小說中帶有濃重的象徵意味，生命誕生前最先接觸到的物質世界便是植物，它與母系的生殖力緊緊相繫，巫醫(葳拉)拿把浸濕的冰涼樹葉塞進產婦的產道口，孩子生下後，「她把浸過藥草的布放在年輕母親兩條腿中間。布染成粉紅色，她再把它拿開，換上新的墊子。她用熊果樹茶沖洗卡衣妲娜的產道。她還有個扁瓶的棉樹根藥酒，能讓流血速度放慢。馬鞭草可以通了那對黑色乳頭。而現在，當嬰兒的嘴尋找媽媽的乳房時，葳拉用安神的嶯菜擦拭這個新母親。」此外，植物也具有療癒的能力：矢車菊煮開加進滋補湯中，可以去熱；荷荷巴具有消炎的功效；馬鞭草能鎮定、止血。
在這個滿是泥地、卵石步道的土地上，豬隻、黃蜂和人類並存，「進步」對小說中的印地安雅基族人來說是個抽象名詞。然而「愛迪生已經在實驗能燃燒長久的燈絲，印地安納州瓦巴許市即將成為第一座完全用電燈照明的城市，紐約市也將在一年內跟進。伊士曼已爲第一捲膠卷申請專利……『勝家』賣出五十三萬九千架縫衣機……貝爾也已經打了全世界第一通電話。」
美國人向貪婪的迪亞茲政權購買土地所有權，這個獨裁者不僅出賣印地安人，而且將他們驅趕至墨西哥南邊境內的難民營，讓這些人勞動至死。阿茲特克人早年遭到西班牙滅絕後，西班牙取而代之成為另一個高壓統治者，奴役印地安人，假借傳布「神聖的信仰」之名，暗地裡想要搜括這片土地任何一個有價值的東西包括黃金和白銀。千穿百孔的墨西哥人人自危，盜匪四起；印地安戰士憤而捍衛族人；「門諾教派的傳教士在各地牧場間走動，向他們保證耶穌基督會在一八八○年以前回到世上。」
故事的轉折在遭人強暴致死的泰瑞西塔有一天突然復活了，復活的她成了能治癒疾病、展現神蹟的卡波拉聖女。革命份子艾瑞吉打著聖女泰瑞西塔的名號，號召族人起義，卻遭迪亞茲政權控告她煽動異端邪說與游擊隊的武裝叛徒結夥，準備將她處死。然而，故事的結尾沒有死傷與流血，而是宛如大夢初醒般，沒入了另外一個時空。

CSI第八季 第一集 對白摘錄(1)
還記得第七季結尾那個善於製作精巧模型的女嫌犯娜塔莉嗎，全新一季CSI首集，調查員進入娜塔莉的公寓搜索，想要找出Sara下落的任何蛛絲馬跡。 WARRICK: A lot of desert landscape drawings. 好多沙漠景致的畫。
NICK: The whole city's a desert. Could be anywhere. 整座城市都是沙漠，有可能是任何一個地方。
(Nick picks up another sketchpad and looks through it. It’s filled with various sketches of Grissom and Sara at a crime scene.) 尼克拿起另外幾幅畫，畫的都是葛瑞森跟莎拉在犯罪現場。

影迷翹首盼望已久的「CSI：犯罪現場」，今晚10:00在AXN頻道全台獨家首播全新第八季，影迷最想問的是「莎拉是否死裡逃生」? 第七季的模型殺手連續犯案，吊足觀眾胃口，等著第八季來解謎。
延續了上一季懸疑驚悚結尾的全新「CSI:犯罪現場」第八季，莎拉賽德爾（喬雅福克斯飾）被一名復仇的連續殺人犯攻擊，莎拉在沙漠中奄奄一息地躺在車輛下，罪案調查科的成員十萬火急展開搜救行動，但能掌握的線索非常少。
